Manic Monday's Measurements {May | Week 1}



☼ Welcome May ☼


That's right, we are now in our first week of May, WOOT WOOT! That's so exciting! It's a big month for me, personally, with Mother's Day on the 9th, my 31st birthday on the 11th, second lap band adjustment on the 13th, and a first appointment with my new endocrinologist on the 18th!! Phew ... I really am busy this month LOL I'm starting May out in a stellar fashion at 257 lbs, and I'm getting closer to the 3 month goal I set for myself ... slowly but surely :)

This past week we went and signed up for a family membership at the YMCA, and after touring it Charlie was SUPER impressed. This isn't the Y from back in the day, that's for sure LOL The girls went into the play area the first night without complaint and hopefully that will keep up, because this will be how we beat the heat this summer and stay in shape this winter, all for only $84 a month/including child care!! :) Win/win if I've ever heard one!

I'm very excited to start swimming, and even bought the dreaded swim death (bathing suit for those that actually like them LOL) and wasn't actually upset about how I looked, more upset about how it fit, but that's a motivational goal, right?? I agree :) So once I can get into the pool and start doing laps, I have a feeling I'll start seeing the toning results I'm really looking for. As a kid I took swim lessons to the point of being a lifeguard, played soccer, all that so I think once I'm back into the swing of it, I'll start feeling the weight drop off in a healthy fashion.

I'm a solid girl, that's for sure, even as I've lost weight I notice more and more I'm just thick and there's nothing I can do about that. Am I complaining?? Hell no, I think it's fabulous, I have no want, need, or dream of being some stick thin, coke head, super model. No thanks. I look at this image and I see all the positives .... slimmer around the torso and bust, arms aren't as big as they have been, face and neck have both lost weigh, more defined waist ... See? I can see improvements and I want all my Has Been Girls to do this, this week. First part of your comment will be critiquing your image and saying all the POSITIVE changes you're seeing!!!

  5. Thank you! Everyone is looking good! I will update with my weight tomorrow morning (I weigh first thing in the AM before anything else because that's the most accurate time to do it) but I have to share this right now!! I went to Wal-Mart to get a few things and I always look through the clothing section. I was looking at the capris and I spotted a size 20. I decided to try it on, just to see how close I was to fitting into that size. I had already told myself that I wasn't going to fit in it yet, don't be disappointed, I will fit into it soon. Well, I went to try them on and I pulled them up my legs. They went. I pulled them over my ass. No problem. I zipped them. I FREAKING ZIPPED THEM! And they fit well!! I danced in the fitting room like a crazy person! :D There, thanks for listening to my crazy happiness. :P

  6. Ok that's me an no it isn't a pool float around my waist... That's where I carry my weight. that and my face....
    I'm a little discouraged this week, I walked every other day did something else on the other days watched what I ate and still am not down any weight.... Still above 200... I was hoping to be below! But I did lose another inch and my DH told me he can tell i'm losing weight.

  7. Sherry, it doesn't look like anything around your waist. I think your waist is looking very good! You are losing inches even if you're not seeing much on the scale. And thank you!

    My update, as of this morning I am at 281 lbs.

    I sent my pic to Tina so just waiting on her to put it up. I weighed myself this morning and I am down another pound so that puts me at 161 and my big goal is 145. I snapped a shot of my butt in some cute ruffle bum undies, holy cellulite batman and stretchmarks too! As you can tell I have never seen my butt up close and boy do I feel for my husband having to look at that! I am going to have to work on those cheeks and legs to make them cute and sexy again.

    Keep up the wonderful work, the results from it are quite noticeable.

  9. I sent my photo to tina too, but I'll post b/c Im a copy cat. I am down 1.2 lbs this week. Not terribly impressive, but what is impressive is that I am over 1/2 way to my first BIG goal. I wanted to lose 10% by July8th (my youngest son's bday) So only 13 more to go--for the first goal. Naturally there will be more. I dont know that I can see any changes in me...I know that sounds terrible. I noticed some of my pants are fitting more comfortably which suggests to me that my pants were way too damn tight 14 lbs ago :). Im going to have to kick my working out up a notch this week. I know I can do it. Im going to go an extra 5 minutes per day on cardio and Im going to go to body pump 2x this week and hopefully hot yoga at least once.

    Meg, you are rocking it girl, and I know you are going to get to your goal, we all will, that's because we have each other!! Meg, I went to the park with Cordi today and climbed on the playground equipment with her and HELLO WORKOUT!! Give it a try! :)

  11. Yeah I think it's time to change up the work out routine because I have NEVER been that nasty on the thighs and butt before even when I was over 200 lbs. Ugh I am destined to be cottage cheese's best friend.

  12. Hi everyone! Well, not an impressive week for me...NOT! LOL. I am down 2#. Woohoo! Of course you can NOT tell in my photo however, there is nothing better than a loss to keep a person going. This week I am going to go to the rec center every afternoon to walk. If I can talk Jamey into picking up Beau from the sitters I'll be able to use the machines while I'm there but I'm not holding my breath. My schedule at work has changed and I will now be off on Wednesdays so thats atleast one day when I'll be able to get a good workout in. I want to lose 10# by my anniversary. (May 28) Wish me luck!

  14. I am glad that you thought the whole pity thing I have for my husband for looking at my flat bread ass with cottage cheese spread about unevenly.

    I am down another pound today so that makes 3 lbs loss in 6 days. I am more concerned on my belly right now I need to tighten it up and I know that is going to take a buttload of time to get it where I once was even after having the first 2 kids.

    Keep up the work ladies you are all looking wonderfully beautiful!!!
